<image:title>About Me - I started my professional career in finance in New York City prior to being a Marriage and Family Therapist. I migrated south with my husband seeking sunshine and the warmth of family to settle in Miami. I struggled with infertility before giving birth to my two daughters via IVF. This experience shaped me in ways that I would never have predicted, and has become one of the important cornerstones behind my practice. With a personal conviction in the power of Marriage and Family Therapy, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the challenges of modern day life. From the mental and emotional strain of infertility to marriage counseling, to struggles with bullying and anxiety, today’s world is loaded with unprecedented changes and causes of stress. All of these pressures take a toll on mental and emotional health, and I am committed to helping my clients manage and overcome them to achieve more joy, happiness, balance, and peace in their lives. As a therapist, I strive to facilitate an understanding of the insights behind the behaviors my clients want to change. I’m here to help my clients reach their own “AHA!” moment by prompting them to glean insights into the patterns and behaviors they want to change. I will help them explore these insights in the context of their relationships, tapping into their own innate curiosity. I will ask the tough questions, but will always come from a place of warmth and ease. I’m originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. I completed my undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Georgetown University. I offer bilingual therapy (Spanish) and have a working knowledge of French.</image:title>

<image:title>Individual Therapy - Life has its ups and downs, and I always say it is not only ok, but an absolute MUST to ask for support when one is going through a difficult time. Having an objective resource, someone completely unrelated to your immediate circle, may offer the breath of fresh air and the new perspective that you need. Marriage and Family Therapy offers individuals a solution-driven approach that addresses a full range of mental and emotional distress, examining a person’s behavior in the context of their relationships.</image:title>

<image:title>Couples Therapy - Relationships are a work in progress that need attention, energy, and care every day. But throughout the life of a relationship, it is normal for the couple to experience disagreements and encounter a potential crisis.</image:title>
<image:caption>This is where I come in. I will be available to help you identify the problem, offer an objective perspective and help foster the understanding necessary to resolve the issue - be it infidelity, infertility, adoption, marital distress, and sexual health, or any other issue straining a couple’s relationship in today’s complex world.</image:caption>

<image:title>Family Therapy - You know what they say, you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose family. Family can be your closest ally, protecting you against the uncertainties and insecurities of the outside world, making you feel safe and at peace. At the same time, it can also be a powerful source of stress and pain, especially when disagreements and tensions arise.</image:title>
<image:caption>As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I will try to make sense of the dynamics that exist between the members of your family and understand how the connections influence your life. I will help identify the problem in the context of the family system, and help deepen your understanding of the problem so that you can better learn how to manage it. Some of the topics that I cover in Family Therapy include unresolved anger in families, parenting, immigration and refugees, financial distress, caregiving for later life adults, loss of a child, and stepfamilies, among others.</image:caption>

<image:title>Infertility - Did you know that 1 out of 8 couples struggles with infertility? Infertility, or the inability to bear children and have a family, can be a huge stressor on a couple’s relationship. It is a physically taxing journey that places a great deal of emotional and financial strain on individuals and couples. An individual and couple may experience an array of different emotions, ranging from anger and sadness to loss and betrayal to guilt and self-isolation. Treatment for infertility requires a two-pronged approach and should include both medical and mental health professionals.</image:title>
<image:caption>As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I will be available to help couples navigate the process, providing the tools to help them communicate better. I will help my clients understand the dynamic between themselves and their partner and how they can best support each other. The goal is to encourage understanding of the situation and arm the couple with the necessary tools to navigate the experience with compassion. Having experienced infertility first hand, I decided to create (Be)Coming, an infertility support group for women to share experiences and resources.</image:caption>
