Infertility

Did you know that 1 out of 8 couples struggles with infertility? Infertility, or the inability to bear children and have a family, can be a huge stressor on a couple’s relationship. It is a physically taxing journey that places a great deal of emotional and financial strain on individuals and couples.

An individual and couple may experience an array of different emotions, ranging from anger and sadness to loss and betrayal to guilt and self-isolation. Treatment for infertility requires a two-pronged approach and should include both medical and mental health professionals.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I will be available to help couples navigate the process, providing the tools to help them communicate better. I will help my clients understand the dynamic between themselves and their partner and how they can best support each other. The goal is to encourage understanding of the situation and arm the couple with the necessary tools to navigate the experience with compassion.

Having experienced infertility first hand, I decided to create (Be)Coming, an infertility support group for women to share experiences and resources.
